The Stalker Scorpion SRS Piston!
I am glad to announce the new Stalker Scorpion piston. A piston that is in development since September 2019. I've had this piston in prototype state for more than enough time and shared prototype versions in our test panel with amazing results. The parts have been fine tuned for the best possible gaming experience for your SRS A1 or A2/M2.
The Stalker Scorpion piston has an extremely modular design which was made from scratch on my drawing table a long time ago. It has all the options people could want for their SRS piston. It is a unique concept where 6 weights form the body itself and as the piston itself is made up of these weights, it is also possible to extend the piston with additional weights (shortstroke) which in turn reduces the volume of your cylinder and joule output.
The 6 piece setup allows for 12 different setups, by extending the piston with an additional weight it allows you to choose from 12 additional setups to choose from.
Here's a list for the 6 piece setups:
SRS Scorpion 62g (1x head alu, 5x mid section alu)
SRS Scorpion 76g (1x head alu, 1x mid section steel , 4x mid section alu)
SRS Scorpion 80g (1x head steel, 5x mid section alu)
SRS Scorpion 89g (1x head alu, 2x mid section steel , 3x mid section alu)
SRS Scorpion 93g (1x head steel, 1x mid section steel , 4x mid section alu)
SRS Scorpion 102g (1x head alu, 3x mid section steel , 2x mid section alu)
SRS Scorpion 107g (1x head steel, 2x mid section steel , 3x mid section alu)
SRS Scorpion 115g (1x head alu, 4x mid section steel , 1x mid section alu)
SRS Scorpion 119g (1x head steel, 3x mid section steel , 2x mid section alu)
SRS Scorpion 128g (1x head alu, 5x mid section steel)
SRS Scorpion 133g (1x head steel, 4x mid section steel , 1x mid section alu)
SRS Scorpion 145g (1x head steel, 5x mid section steel)
I’ll explain the features of this piston for you below.
The cups are made of durable high quality rubber and have been tested and adapted to have the best performance with the currently available cylinders on the market. The piston cups are available in two versions.
- Zero loading friction.
- No Thumb block seal.
- Best Joule Output.
- Fast Reloading (Lightest pull).
- Works best with Stinger Tapered Brass Airbrake
- Low Friction.
- 100% thumb block seal.
- Lower joule output than the black cup
- Works best with brass airbrake
- Drop of oil on the cup edge is recommended
The piston comes with several body weights (depending on the product edition) that are interchangeable with each other to perfectly set up your SRS.
- Available in aluminum anodized black, each piece weighs: 7 Grams
- Available in coated gold, polished steel, each piece weighs: 21 Grams
Next to that, the piston head is available in these versions as well.
- Aluminum anodized black, each head weighs: 8 Grams
- Coated gold, polished steel, each head weighs: 24 Grams
This way you can configure the piston between ~65 to 148 grams (depending on the airbrake), This way you can set it up for any kind of joule output.
Next to that, the piston comes with 2 different adjustable airbrakes
1x Adjustable Airbrake made of Brass.
This is a non-tapered, fat, brass airbrake. This airbrake is the most "direct" working airbrake, once the airbrake enters the nozzle the piston immediately starts to slow down.
The Brass airbrake has an O-ring option.
1x Adjustable Stinger Tapered Airbrake made of Brass
This adjustable tapered Airbrake is made out of POM Delrin, We included two pieces in case one breaks when removing the cup.
When the tapered part enters the nozzle, the nozzle faces a tapered surface, which we feel is somewhat more forgiving and more adjustable than the brass version because of its material and tapered end.
Both airbrakes are held with a nut underneath the cup against the piston head to keep it in place after you have adjusted it to your liking.
The adjustable airbrake is there to adjust the piston’s speed at the very end of its movement to reduce the time of air escaping the cylinder and to reduce some piston impact noise when it hits the cylinder head.
Other parts that are included :
- Sear End Cap made of stainless steel.
- 10- O rings for in between the weights or cylinder head to stop the weights from loosening by playing.
- Front guide ring made of POM.
- Receiver guide RING made of POM.
- 9MM Laser engraved Stalker spring guide with top cut-out for the adjustable Airbrake.
- Soft bumper pad that fits in the spring guide to reducing recoil slam. (Hard bumper pad separately available; Article code: ST-050)
- 2 O-Rings for spring guide that fits A1 butt-stock.
- 2 O-Rings for spring guide that fits A2/M2 butt-stock.
The size of the entrance of the Scorpion piston has been optimized to work best with Rapax and Silverback springs it might work just fine with other brand springs as long as these springs have the same diameter as the springs mentioned above.
Basically, if you like a plug and play piston or if you are a master of tinkering with your piston weights, airbrake, and cups to get the best performance, then the Stalker Scorpion is your best friend.
